101: Parent to Parent
Small
Groups include a program by the Passage
Group called "Parent to Parent -
Keeping healthy families healthy."
Since it's introduction in 1988, Parent
to Parent has been sucessfully implemented
in over 2,500 communities and has reached
over 2 million parents. There are 8 one
hour sessions that cover a variety of
issues and often provoke conversation
about personal experiences. Put the power
of others' experiences to use! Each session
consists of a thiry minute video, followed
by 30 minutes of open discussion. The
sessions meet once per week, covering
the entire program within two months.
The groups are limited in size to about
12 parents or less. We encourage open
discussion and confidentiality here. The
Courier Journal featured parent to parent
in a December 27, 2006 front page article
titled "Parent-involvement group
Operation: SPIRIT catches on".
